The pleasure of teaching

I love teaching. I do because it is one of the best ways one can give of oneself to others while, at the same time, bettering oneself and developing an ever deeper understanding of the topics with which one deals. In fact, engaging in teaching is not only an unparalleled stimulus to constantly add to one’s cultural baggage, but also a unique way to get to know both oneself and others better. In fact, the effective transfer of one’s own knowledge requires entering into a relationship with others (the learners), thus developing an understanding of their training needs and of any difficulties they may be facing. Conversely, it requires lecturers to conduct in-depth self-analyses aimed at taking stock of their teaching strong and weak points in order to achieve constant improvement. At any rate, this is how I interpret this activity, which has given me great personal and professional satisfaction.
